My frustrations with the Sun Direct DTH website
load time : not sure if you have multiple tabs to load(that were saved last time).
closing properly message : this happens when you quickly tried to restart firefox after closing the previous instance. firefox closes the windows BUT firefox the application is still running(you can confirm by looking at task manager).
BR,
~A
@load time : I never used to save any tabs before closing the Firefox. Every time, I usually open a blank page. But still, it is taking such a long time to load.
I thought that it may be because of plug-ins I am using with Firefox, so I disabled all the plug-ins. But, even after the load time is not decreasing!
@closing properly message: yes, you must be right. If it tried opening the Firefox, quickly after closing the previous instance, I am getting the error message. Otherwise, its working fine.
So I conveniently switched back to 2.
2 is awesome. 3 is not so promising.
May be we have to wait for some more time, to get all older plug-ins ported to latest version of Firefox 3!
I have found some other problems too.
We use a proxy server in our office. so to access the intranet sites we use to bypass the proxy server.
Firefox 2 do this job preetty good but 3 in vain and in stain.
Well i am sorry to say that but they have to check this severe issue.
I have also faced the proxy problem at my office system. Hope it will be rectified soon.
Try downloading the latest update 3.0.1 by doing the following:
help | check for updates
I also did not have any crash, since I started using FF3. But the main problem for me is the load time.
We haven't had any proxy issues with using the Microsoft Firewall Client for ISA Server.
FireFox 3 loads/renders pages much faster than FireFox 2. I don't use the save tabs - so startup time is fast.
I too have noticed the firefox process remains running sometimes after I close firefox and I have to kill the process in task manager to startup a usable firefox instance.
using: FireFox 3.0.1 on Windows XP
